American Security (AMSEC) TF5517 - External Dimensions - 55.25"H × 17.75"W × 16"D - 286lbs
A narrow safe, under eighteen inches wide, made to stand in the corner of a closet or beside a wardrobe and take up very little floor. Inside it is 52.5 inches tall and 16 wide, with an organizer on the door, and it carries a 30-minute fire rating at 1200°F.
American Security (AMSEC) rate it for 11 long guns. The same tall, slim interior suits rolled drawings, a tripod or a cased rod just as well, and at 286 lbs it is a safe two people can bring into the house themselves.
What it holds
Room for a pair of shotguns, the rolled survey maps of the land they're used on, and the spare keys to everything.

Thirty minutes, and what it is for
A 30-minute rating at 1200°F is made for the fire that is found and fought quickly: a house in town, with a fire station a few minutes away. The lining is a single layer of drywall, and gypsum holds water in its crystals that a fire has to drive off as steam before the heat gets through. Dual seals on the door keep smoke and heat out of the gap.
If your house is a long way from the nearest engine, weigh that before you choose. It is the one question about a fire rating that only you can answer.
Delivery and Siting
At 286 lbs it ships by freight and is delivered to the curb by a liftgate truck. The carrier will call ahead to arrange a delivery window, so someone will need to be home. From there two people and a stair-climbing hand truck can bring it in, taking any steps slowly. At 17.75 inches wide it clears any doorway in the house. Tall and narrow, it is easier to tip over than a broad safe, so stand it on a level floor with its back to a wall.
If you'd like it brought inside and positioned, contact us after you order and we'll help you arrange it with a safe mover near you. That service is priced separately.
What this is not
It is not a media safe. The fire rating protects paper. Hard drives, USB sticks, memory cards and film need an interior held below 125°F, and this safe makes no such claim.
It is not water rated. No claim is made. A house fire usually brings a great deal of water from the hoses, so keep papers in sealed bags inside if that matters to you.
It is not a UL burglary-rated safe. No burglary listing is claimed. Its protection against a thief is the steel and the boltwork on all four sides of the door.

Questions
Which color will I receive?
American Security make it in textured black and textured white. Tell us which you want and we will confirm what is available for this listing. There may be other color options and other metal finishes available than those listed, please contact us to inquire.
Will it fit in a closet?
Very likely. It needs a floor space 17.75 inches wide and 16 deep, 55.25 inches of height, and room in front for the door to swing open.
Who tested the fire rating?
American Security's listing gives 30 minutes at 1200°F without naming a laboratory. Ask us and we'll find out.
Will it protect hard drives or USB sticks in a fire?
No. It is rated for paper. Digital media needs a safe rated to keep its interior below 125°F.
How is it delivered?
By freight, to the curb, on a liftgate truck.
